![]() HORSEMASTERSHIP This program is for children 10 and older who are looking for a summer camp experience where they can eat, breathe and sleep horses. There will be one session of Horsemastership offered this summer after Traditional camp ends, August 14th to August 20th. Horsemastership is a goal-oriented program giving campers a solid resource of horse knowledge on which they can earn levels of achievement through the Certified Horseman's Association. Campers will spend their mornings in small group English riding lessons, as well as playing horse oriented games and challenges, and taking un-mounted lessons. Other activities will include trail rides, a barn sleep over and lots of vaulting (gymnastics on horseback). Each day, campers should expect to spend around 3 to 4 hours on the back of a horse.
Afternoons during Horsemastership will start with a break at the pool, and then right back to the barn. Afternoon activities will include horse presentations, more games and challenges, and un-mounted lessons. The chance to specialize in a specific horse area will also be available. Areas of specialized interest may include driving, natural horsemanship, vaulting, course building, showing, horse care, polo and other ideas generated by the campers. The evenings of Horsemastership will find the campers once again at the arena in riding lessons and working on achieving their CHA levels and ribbons. The week will end with a presentation for our parents, in which campers will receive their ribbons and certificates they have earned during the week. For more details, click on the links below:
